Thanks to funding from both the Sate Government and Shire of East Gippsland much needed repair and renovation
works are underway on both courthouse buildings. Period Restorations are undertaking the work and its going well.

BECAUSE OF THIS ESSENTIAL WORK THE PARK MUST REMAIN CLOSED TO VISITORS
IT WILL BE WORTH THE WAIT!

The Shire of Omeo has been a part of the East Gippsland Shire since 1994 when then Victorian Premier
J Kennett amalgamated shires in Victoria.
The society has a local history collection which incorporates information from all parts of the old shire. The collection is housed in the heritage listed AM Pearson Historic Park at Omeo.
With its 5 heritage listed buildings which include two CourtHouses and a Log Gaol the park is an absolute must when visiting the region. You cant miss it in the middle of town. Go here if you would like to contact us.
