Omeo Justice Precinct is the
historic Omeo Police
Camp and Courts
Complex combined.
This intact Justice Precinct comprises 5
heritage listed buildings and is unique and important to Australia's
history. Two courthouses and log gaol are included!
Omeo was a rough and tough multicultural mining boom town
that, together with the agricultural
sector,
formed the large Omeo
Shire (1872-1994) Now a part of the huge
East Gippsland Shire the precinct is managed
by
the Omeo Historical Society with its local
history collection housed
throughout the
