With 5 heritage listed buildings and wonderful originality this
Justice Precinct is believed the most intact and original in Australia.
The 5 buildings consist of, 2 Court Houses, Police residence,
Stables and Log Lockup.
The  "local history collection" is housed throughout
the buildings and the grounds.
By including the Civic Square gardens at the front of the
Court House we have an overall "A. M. Pearson Historic Park".

Omeo Historical Society manage the park on behalf of East
Gippsland Shire while the local history collection belongs to the Society
The "new" courthouse is still an active courthouse with
sittings on two or three occasions per year.

Omeo was a rough and tough multicultural mining boom town and
was the centre of the large Omeo Shire (1872-1994) the story of which
the Society and its collection seek to represent.

Look at "historic park" link. The "other places" link provide
some information on parts of the old shire.
