With its 5 heritage listed buildings which include two CourtHouses and a
Log Gaol the park is an absolute must when visiting the Omeo Region.
You cant miss it in the middle of town.


The Park has been undergoing a large conservation project to restore the two Courthouses since mid 2020
and the work is now nearing an end. We should be open to the public in 2024.

Bus Tours are back
The Society has resumed heritage bus tours around Omeo township.
Jeff took the first one since 2018.

2022 and 23 are the 150th of the old Shire of Omeo
and we were able to mark the occasion in October 2022.

POSTER PROJECT FOR 150th of old Omeo Shire (2022-23)

As a part of the 2022-23 celebration of the 150th of the old Shire of Omeo the Omeo Historical Society

produced 110 different posters in 2 sizes and you will see them displayed in the Region's Towns.

Supported by East Gippsland Shire Council, Omeo Business and Tourism Association as well as Omeo Lions.

The Shire of Omeo has been a part of the East Gippsland Shire since 1994 when then
Victorian Premier J Kennett amalgamated some Shires in Victoria.
